Week 1: getting our hands dirty

The past week and a half were crazy busy, but luckily we took the Friday of the closing off from work so we could get our hands dirty right away! We celebrated by eating lunch on our beautiful deck and then got right to work. Our main goal was to get the house clean so that we could start the painting. I also took a bunch of "Before" pictures that I need to post. We had a wedding to go to this weekend so didn't do anything on the house, but I am already so sore that I loved the break!

Friday (day of closing) -

• cleaned the whole house
• mowed the lawn - realized the entire backyard was their dog's bathroom so we have some clean up to do in the future out there!
• got the locks rekeyed
• removed the wallpaper borders in the two kids bedrooms (even though Dan really loved the sports themed border in the boys room)

Saturday, Mom & Dad came up to help -

• Mom cleaned the kitchen really good and finished up cleaning the walls where the wallpaper had been
• Dad did an AMAZING job cleaning out the fireplace, it looks so much better and doesn't smell half as bad
• painted the ceiling in our bedroom

Sunday -

• painted the ceiling in the guest room, did a second coat on the ceiling in our room

During the Week

• painted the ceiling in the mudroom and laundry room
